Racing games are one of the most popular genres of mobile games. Sunday drivers or elite racers who prefer competition can all find what they need to take sharp turns on a circuit or simply pace their virtual highway of the sun.
For the most realistic to the craziest driving experiences, we’ve put together a non-exhaustive and slightly arbitrary list of the best racing games for Android.
The best android racing game in 2020 is:
1. Real Racing 3 (free)
For serious driving and realistic simulation, Real Racing 3 wins the race high the man. Each car behaves according to its actual performance in terms of traction, weight, handling, etc. In Real Racing 3 you can race on 17 circuits with over 140 different official cars, from Lamborghinis and Porsches to Mercedes-Benz, Audi and other Ferraris. You can also choose from many multiplayer modes to race with your friends.
The game is also beautiful, but those nice graphics and licensed content take up space. Make sure you have at least 1.5 GB free before clicking the download button.
You can download Real Racing 3 for free from the App Store.
2. Need for Speed: No Limits (free)
No Limits was released in early 2015, but has been regularly updated until August 2019. In addition to updating the graphics engine, EA has progressively introduced new cars, tracks and modes to the game. There is now a quick elimination survival tournament mode and customizable cars from luxury brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Pagani, Koenigsegg, Hennessey, and more.
The arrival of Need for Speed: No Limit has been one of the most anticipated on Android, and its continued long-term maintenance has made it a true favorite with car fans. With its realistic graphics and immersive circuits, No Limits is one of the best racing games on Android.
You can download Need for Speed: No Limits for free from the Google Play Store.
3. Asphalt 9: Legends (free)
The Asphalt series has become cult on Android, and games are often used by tech sites like us to test how smartphones and tablets can handle graphically intense gameplay. The ninth game in the series features real cars like the Lamborghini Veneno, which you can launch on numerous ramps and jumps, giving you a rare opportunity to do some pirouettes with your sports car.
Asphalt 9: Legends has plenty of tracks featuring over 50 of the world’s best supercars. It’s an arcade racing game that shines with its graphics, sound effects and purely playfulness. As I mentioned, Asphalt 9 really uses up your device’s RAM. This gorgeous, flashy game performs best on high-end hardware with lots of RAM and a good GPU.
You can download Asphalt 9: Legends for free from the Google Play Store.
4. GT Racing 2 (free)
GT Racing 2 is another title from Gameloft – the developer of Asphalt 9 – but it is much more realistic than its more arcade brother. It is quite simply one of the best racing simulators for smartphones. Choose from a selection of 71 cars from 37 leading manufacturers. You can drive on 13 circuits – including the real Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca – from four different perspectives and take part in more than 1,400 events. The game is constantly updated with new content, with 28 new challenges every week.
This is a great game if you like to modify the performance of your vehicle in the garage and test your improvements on the track in the most realistic racing simulation on Android.
You can download GT Racing 2 for free from Google Play Store.
5. Absolute Drift (paid)
Absolute Drift, developed by Noodlecake Studios, is a completely different racing game than those on our list so far. Rather than going straight on the track taking a few tight turns, this game consists of skidding, therefore drifting, on artistically designed tracks.
The game looks chic and elegant, and it has that “indie game” feel to it. There are only six cars and three game modes; there are five free apps where you can just play and relax. Absolute Drift is also free in a literal sense, meaning without being hassled to make purchases every 30 seconds.
You can download Absolute Drift for 3.19 euros from the Google Play Store.
6. Horizon Chase (free)
Horizon Chase is a racing game that attempts to emulate racing titles from the 80s and 90s. Indeed, the developers who made this game have experience with some of the classics of the past 20 years, and it is steeped in nostalgia.
The game mechanics are different from all the other racing games on the list in that the controls are greatly simplified. However, thanks to its excellent soundtrack and graphics, it not only offers one of the most original racing experiences, but also one of the best on Android today.
You can download Horizon Chase for free from Google play store
7. Beach Buggy Blitz (free)
Blitz is the latest addition to the Beach Buggy Racing series and follows the same mechanics as titles like Mario Kart or Crash Team Racing. It is a racing game that is intentionally less mature, and more focused on fun than on high adrenaline speed and realistic graphics. Races are strewn with items that can be collected and used to attack other opponents or push them back. It looks great on tablet but is perfectly playable on smartphones as well.
You can download Beach Buggy Blitz for free on Google play Store.
8. Asphalt Xtreme: Rally Racing (free)
Another fantastic racing game from Gameloft is Asphalt Xtreme: Rally Racing. This offroad racing simulation is designed for those who like the beautiful graphics and edgy gameplay of the asphalt racing series, but want to do a bit of rallying rather than standing on the tarmac.
You can drive through sandy hills, race in canyons, drift over land, and even get behind the wheel of a 4×4 Monster Truck. There’s also real-time multiplayer with online head-to-head races for up to eight players.
You can download Asphalt Xtreme: Rally Racing for free on the play store.
